The European Commission has released a draft guidance and reporting template to support the upcoming requirements of the EU AI Act. These documents focus on Article 73, which will require providers of high-risk AI systems to report serious incidents to national authorities.

Although these rules will only apply starting August 2026, stakeholders are encouraged to review and provide feedback now. The draft guidance includes:

  • Practical examples to aid understanding
  • Interplay with other union incident reporting obligation
