Goodbye DMIDS, Hello EUDAMED!

EUDAMED

Germany switches fully to EUDAMED

The German authority BfArM has announced that EUDAMED will replace all national device notifications in Germany starting 28 May 2026.

  • From this date, new device notifications in the German DMIDS database will no longer be possible. Devices must instead be registered in EUDAMED prior to being placed on the EU market.
  • For devices already notified and placed on the market, updates and withdrawals in DMIDS will remain possible until 27 November 2026.

As your Authorized Representative, MDSS will continue to manage DMIDS-related notifications, where required, throughout this transition period.

We welcome this structured and clearly defined transition, which helps reduce administrative duplication and supports a smooth shift towards a harmonized EU-wide system.

At the same time, this development highlights an important reality: many manufacturers are still not fully prepared for EUDAMED, and key practical aspects of implementation remain complex.

This is where MDSS can support you to complete your EUDAMED registrations ahead of the mandatory deadlines.
With decades of experience with national and European device databases, MDSS offers a full-service EUDAMED registration solution — from initial setup to ongoing maintenance.

You focus on your business — we handle your EUDAMED registrations.
